Sticky: New Retrospring Account | Ask me Anonymous Questions!!

This is exciting to announce, but I’ve finally made a Retrospring account!
This means that you all can send me anonymous questions (and public questions) if you so wish!
I already had a Curious Account that I used for that, but since a lot of people use Retrospring, I might use that instead! Especially since the CC app was useless to me since it never opened the actual app — just my web browser — but tried to play itself off as an app!! (that was stupid).
Anyways, have at it, y’all! I’ll be blogging soon here, but this is it for today :3

As an Aethy & Misskey artist, I find it pretty easy to get engagement with a post. A renote/re-toot can usually get you really well in the algorithm. It really sucks that “regular social media” doesn’t work this way. All that does on the more popular social platforms is make them think: “Problematic, don’t engage,” and then shadow-ban you off the face of the earth.
It’s hilarious how we put up with it, to be honest.

Something I Noticed With Mastodon…
Aug. 25th, 2023 11:23 amSomething I’ve recently noticed with Mastodon is that their main instance (mastodon.social) has only a 500 character limit for posting.
I understand that this is more than what Twitter gives you, but for people to communicate and truly be “social,” the app needs to at least increase their character limit.
I’ve looked into other instances, but they don’t ever truly say what character limit they have, and it’s frustrating!
I would appreciate it if changes were made, but until then, the “threaded mode” on the website will have to do. It isn’t even available for mobile users on the app version.
A lot of things are limited for phone users who wish to use the app or even third-party clients.
It’s sad seeing a website that allows art (Mastodon.ART) is against lolicon.
They say in the TOS that they won’t even slightly tolerate lolicon with a WARNING, they will completely get rid of it and suspend your account.
They claim to be “freedom of expression,” yet they don’t allow people to post NSFW art or even lolicon with a trigger warning. They only allow “suggestive” and “lewd” content, yet they state you’re not allowed to post NSFW art that involves sex.
It’s strange, and I’m not joining that instance since it’s just not worth my time.
I wish an instance would appear that’s perfect for artists and regular users alike, but, until then, Mastodon.ART exists (but is heavily flawed), and Mastodon.social has some of the same problems but is more-so a problem of censoring other instances even though it’s the main instance that majority will flock to.
The character limit is annoying for a lot of people that just wanna blog that’s decentralized.
Unfortunately, those migrating from Tumblr and other apps might not have a great time.

Something I’m beginning to realize...
Aug. 24th, 2023 04:31 pmI’m starting to notice a pattern of how this site that’s supposedly for blogging isn’t very fit for BLOGGING purposes. It seems more-so only made for text-based posts and nothing more.
If that’s how they want to run their site, I'm not saying they CAN’T do that, but I hope they realize that a lot of people are probably looking for a replacement to LiveJournal, and when the site is clearly not up-to-date and modern, it can fail horribly...
I’m not saying that old-school-looking website can’t look fantastic — my point is:
It isn’t keeping up with the overwhelming amount of users on their platform.
Even Reddit modernized itself in the social media world.
This is just probably going to be a rant journal from now on if I feel like it, I think. I’ll just post stuff I like on here, unfortunately without images because — as you all know — without the ability to USE images, you can’t SEE THEM.

Aug. 24th, 2023 04:21 pmThis is some art that I worked on today — it may be a sketch, but it’s amazing to me!
This one was from an anatomy study I was doing due to being bored, but I ended up creating something completely brand new out of nowhere.
I do a lot of studies on Pinterest, but this one was special! It’s because I got to use all the brushes I had in Adobe Photoshop and Fresco to my advantage! I was even able to make my watermark look pretty attractive while also claiming my copyright.
This image will be posted later on my Instagram and Mastodon accounts, but I won’t be uploading it to Twitter/X.com due to being uncomfortable with their image practices involving AI.

These are personally useful for me when I'm making blogs and doing journals.
I love to write professionally, so when I notice something doesn't look right...it doesn't make me feel very good- Let's say that-
Another suggestion is using Gboard for Android — it's amazing for text editing, and I use it all the time rather than my Samsung keyboard because I find it's not only better, but it's faster!
You also have the option to hold down on the Straight-quote and get a smart quote. Unfortunately, you can't make it an automatic option for Android as of yet, so these sites are VERY useful for a lot of people!

From my time on Tumblr, I’ve never had LESS interaction than ANY OTHER PLATFORM.
Even with the “popular tags,” it doesn’t feel right whenever I post to be met with no one even SEEING my art in the first place. It’s extremely demotivating for me as an artist. That’s WHY I rarely share my art on there in the first place. It just doesn’t benefit me in any way.
In fact, for those of you still using the platform: Why?
There’s plenty of other social media to get recognized on, and I would start by posting to Instagram and Mastodon. At least you’ll get more interaction and people noticing your work — not to mention that there’s less harassment from Tumblr and X users. You will have a better time there since no one is there for “drama” and “tea.”
Personally, I only use Tumblr because someone on there deleted their Instagram and other accounts that they associated with their X and Instagram account.
It’s just not worthy of the praise it receives. Also, the Tumblr Live function just doesn’t need to exist in the first place. It just makes the app and website less usable as an account owner since 2020.

I’m beginning to use more of the Fediverse every day, and now that I have a Misskey.gg account, it’s been getting even better!
Since I’m part of the Fediverse, I’ve been trying to actively promote it on several occasions, especially on Twitter/X.com. It’s extremely difficult, but I’m managing just fine!

Since I have a Facebook Page, I was expecting some of my followers to at least use the platform if they touched Instagram.
I know some people don’t use Facebook since it’s “for older people,” but many still use it because it’s a pretty good platform to grow a business and gain traction! Due to this — and not wishing to be impersonated — I decided to say “Screw it!” and made one. I know it probably won’t gain much of a following, but we’ll see how things go.
I don’t expect it to grow quickly, but maybe over time it will become something nice to look at.
It will definitely look a lot less crowded than my Instagram and other socials. Even so, I hope you all enjoy this endeavor I’m doing to make my stuff more accessible for everyone.

It’s a great option if I don’t have access to a computer for whatever reason!
Anyways, I’m hoping that I can actually get to posting more often since I personally LOVE journaling — it’s something that I love to do in my personal time AND online, so this is a wonderful start!

People that truly believe that he knows what he’s doing are crazy. The bird app will soon some to a close, I’m sure of it!
It’s not just me that thinks this either! It’s everyone on Twitter, including those that bought Blue! It’s Elon’s SUPPORTERS telling him this block ban is a bad idea!!! When will he understand that blocking is an essential part of social media that even WATTPAD has! This is getting ridiculous!

I’m unsure if it’s just me that’s been pretty worried about LiveJournal being owned by those in Russia at this point in time. I only realized that a mutual of mine used LiveJournal at one point or another, so I decided to create an account a few days ago.
I enjoy the site (a little) when it comes to posting my own journals, but when it comes to looking at other’s? I don’t.
